Dr. Leonard (Len) Mills has over 30 years of experience as an investment manager of large and small portfolios. His past employment includes positions at the Federal Reserve, Fannie Mae, Wells Fargo, privately held funds, and as a adjunct professor. Len holds a B.S. in Mathematics,, a Ph.D. in Economics, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).
Len spent over 15 years as Head of Portfolio Analytics and Research for Fannie Mae’s direct portfolio which peaked at over $1.5 trillion in assets under management. Len and his team of 150 quantitative analysts were responsible for all of the proprietary analytics and research underlying all asset selections and portfolio management strategies for the entire portfolio. After leaving Fannie in 2005, he was a Principal in Unison Investment Management that managed two funds: a private real estate equity fund and a leveraged interest rate derivatives fund. In 2010, he joined Wells Fargo’s Corporate Risk group as a Head of Model Validation.
Len started his own registered investment advisory business, PI Analytics Investment Adviser, in 2016. PI Analytics specializes in investing in alternative, hard-to-value assets that require expert knowledge to manage. PI Analytics’ current assets under management include real estate, credit-sensitive loans, and option-trading accounts. At this same time, Len founded Verte Capital, a venture capital fund focused on the cannabis industry and related technologies. From a small base, Verte Capital experienced rapid growth and realized gains over this period, and it is now the largest pool of client funds managed by PI Analytics Investment Adviser at over $5 million. The recently created Verte Opportunity Fund will pursue a similar venture capital strategy with an added focus on opportunity zone investments to substantially enhance after-tax returns.
William Mills has 10 years of experience as a technology professional in various industries including music, sales and finance. He holds a B.S. in Music Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
In 2010 William founded Verte Music, a software platform that matched content creators looking for music scoring with a privately-curated production library. In addition, he worked with world renowned musical artists in various capacities.
William joined PI Analytics in 2015 and currently heads its technology efforts. William builds client-facing and internal products including invested management systems, data collection systems, workflow automation, and analytics-based dashboards. In addition to building the company’s information technology, William performs data analysis and handles project/staff management for PI Analytics’ consulting engagements.
Natalie Elder has over 10 years of experience as a direct marketing professional specializing in content creation and management, client relations, non-profit fundraising campaigns and strategy, and data analysis. Natalie received a B.A. degree in professional writing. In her previous experience, Natalie has worked with industry-leading clients like AARP Foundation, The Mental Health Association of Frederick County, Massachusetts General Hospital, AOPA and more.
Natalie has experience in investment partnership with a focus on start-up opportunities, state-issued grant application and acquisition, and budgeting.
Ray Wight has 3 years of experience as a financial analyst at PI Analytics. He received his B.S. in Finance.
Ray handles portfolio management and analysis, performance tracking, and investment research for individual clients. This includes stock, bond, and short-term derivatives trading. Ray is also a specialist as a venture capital analyst and also helps with deal flow in the private equity arm of the company. He also assists on deal execution and bookkeeping for the Verte funds.

Augusto (Gus) D. Macedo, Esq. is the Managing Director of Asset Management Compliance Consulting Solutions, LLC (“AMC Compliance”). He has over 25 years of experience in the asset management sector, providing regulatory compliance consulting services to investment advisers, private equity firms and hedge funds, municipal and securities broker-dealers, mutual funds, life insurance companies and affiliated distributors, and banks.
Prior to Gus assuming his role at AMC Compliance, he served in various senior level positions at Calvert Investments, Inc., Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation, and the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations and Division of Enforcement.

Chuck Wight has over 35 years’ experience representing small businesses and successful enterprises in all accounting, tax, and estate planning matters. Chuck received and B.S. in Accounting and a M.S. in Taxation. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
Since 1990, he has partnered and managed a full service accounting practice, Wight and Walsh. He was previously a Tax Manager at Grant Thornton and a Senior Accountant at Rosenbloom and Shapiro. Over his career he has provided dozens of valuations of small- and medium-sized businesses as well as numerous consultations on buying or selling businesses.

Stephanie M.
